Becoming a Volunteer

Our visiting volunteers are asked to visit once a week with a resident, our “Neighbor”, who desires a friend. We also enjoy encouraging residents by celebrating a special occasion with such things as a greeting card, a gift, a cake, or special meal. Large print Bibles and other literature is made available to residents. All services and items are provided free of charge.

Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:4,5)

We understand that visiting one-on-one in a nursing home is not for everyone so we have developed other missionary programs and volunteer opportunities that help provide for the needs and wants of our Neighbors. They include leading a Group Bible Study; sewing, knitting or crocheting special items through our Stitches for Love program; leading a Bereavement Support Group; singing or playing a musical instrument, visiting with your dog. We also provide training for all volunteer opportunities.

Our mission is to show the love of God to those who are resident in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, by providing loving, caring, helpful and neighborly visits. Our vision is that every elderly person in these facilities will have a loving, Godly visitor to call on them regularly.

You shall rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man, and fear your God: I am the LORD. (Leviticus 19:32)

As a volunteer visitor, you will visit with an assigned person and bless them with Christian love. We provide complete training and work together with you to find that very special person to befriend at a facility as close as possible to your home.
